XC-11 Moving Coil Cartridge
The XC-11 moving coil cartridge was released to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary. This cartridge is the world’s first to employ PC-Triple C conductors in its generating coil, the heart of the system, further refining the purity of the sound. To maximize the characteristics of this generating coil, the XC-11 employs the ring magnet system, rather than the standard magnetic circuit found in most conventional MC cartridges. This system, which incorporates the signal generating coils within the magnetic field of a toroid shaped neodymium magnet, requires extremely skilled craftsmanship in manufacturing. This extreme solution losslessly converts microscopic vinyl grooves into electrical signals. Furthermore, because of the highly efficient conversion circuit used in the XC-11, the number of turns of wire in the PC-Triple C generating coil has been reduced to the minimum, successfully lowering the impedance to the practical minimum versus sufficient output voltage.
In addition to rich expressiveness at low levels and the cultivation of an overwhelming sense of energy, the XC-11 achieves excellent responsiveness in sound attack and decay, reproducing a breadth, depth, and even height of sound space that has never been experienced with previous products. Setting itself apart from previous MC cartridges that prioritized resolution over musicality, the XC-11 sets the new standard for truly balanced playback.
