Pyon Sound of Korea

I'm proud to announce that I will be representing Pyon Sound of Korea.  John Yoon-Sung Park's adoption of Panzerholz style plywood agrees with my observations of their efficacy in audio.  I was there to hear the first Panzerholz turntable plinth made in the US.  Having been a machinist for five years, I wondered why the material hadn't been developed further.  It can be machined like plastic, is easy on carbide and HSS tools, is easy to finish and has nearly ideal tonal qualities.  The only other material in the same league, in my opinion, is magnesium, which has well-known problems with flammability and oxidation.  Though I'm sure Mr. Park's plywood can be made to burn, unlike magnesium you can put it out with water.

Mr. Park's development of a higher grade alternative to Panzerholz, namely Pyon Sound's Picawood, further develops the uses for this outstanding material, with applications in tonearms, headshells, platters, chassis components, and the list is almost limitless.  We plan on making the raw material available to other manufacturers and DIY people.  Pricing is forthcoming, but it should have a significant price advantage over the German produced material.

The most outstanding product from Pyon Sound, speaking as an analog fetishist, is Mr Park's absolutely gorgeous tonearm, the Iris Reference, a 12" magnetically damped unipivot, with Picawood arm wand.  Pyon Sound is developing a new LCR phono stage that promises to be one of the best available.  I will have news on that in the coming weeks.

I'm excited by the possibilities.  If you are interested in either the raw product for OEM or DIY use, or the finished product, contact me at your earliest convenience.  I look forward to answering your questions.
