TiGLON Magnesium Shielded Interconnects
Magnesium is singular in offering an outstanding combination of vibration absorption, mechanical rigidity and electromagnetic shielding. The properties of magnesium have been proven over the years, through use in aerospace, auto racing, and for audio in headshells and tonearms. TiGLON takes this material full circle by applications in cable shielding and damping, and through its highly advanced application to audio equipment racks. TiGLON has developed a magnesium foil having excellent audio characteristics: An ideal shielding layer which dampens external vibration and blocks external EMI/RFI radiation. TiGLON interconnects take advantage of these properties.
Magnesium XLR Interconnect MGL-X10
Tiglon’s top XLR cable has improved texture and denser information, as compared to the conventional products, by adopting Hitachi Metals LTD new HiFC conductor (click here, and scroll to the bottom for more information). The MGL-X10 reproduces overwhelming tranquility using the newly developed “third generation structure of magnesium shielding” and “magnesium filter” in the shielding layer. It is a special model that was created to commemorate the Tiglon patent. Of Tiglon interconnects, this new model is the most advanced, and just received special recognition from MJ Audio Technology magazine.
The cable’s structure is configured as follows:
- Hitachi HiFC (6N or equivalent) 3-wire, twisted rope, with special flame retardant PVC, chosen for its sonic qualities
- Wound copper shield
- Third generation magnesium shield
- Outer jacket of special flame retardant PVC, chosen for its sonic qualities
Magnesium Interconnect MS-12R
The MS-12R uses a two-layer shield, with very fine soft steel wire and magnesium foil. RCA plugs are rhodium-plated with collet chucks. The conductors are ultra-fine soft annealed stranded copper. This is the standard magnesium shielded cable that extends the technology used in our finest models to a more affordable product. Available as 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0m lengths.
Magnesium Interconnect MGL-R1
The MGL-R1 uses a three-layer shield to protect conductors made of 500 twisted ultra-fine annealed copper wires of 50μ each (500 ultra-fine copper strands per conductor). The shield is constructed of an inner copper braid, then magnesium tape, then another layer of copper braid. It is equipped with RCA plugs using magnesium collets to damp vibration, and to shield the conductor from EMI and RFI radiation. The result is exemplary signal-to-noise ratio, transparency and dimensionality. A practical result from the use of ultra-fine wires is a cable free of degradation caused by work-hardening and fracturing that invariably occurs with large gauge copper conductors.

Magnesium XLR Interconnect MGL-X1
The MGL-X1 balanced interconnect uses a three-layer shield to protect conductors made of 500 twisted ultra-fine annealed copper wires of 50μ each (500 ultra-fine copper strands per conductor). The shield is constructed of an inner copper braid, then magnesium tape, then another layer of copper braid. The result is exemplary signal-to-noise ratio, transparency and dimensionality. A practical result from the use of ultra-fine wires is a cable free of degradation caused by work-hardening and fracturing that invariably occurs with large gauge copper conductors.
